After having owned a Bushnell V3 for 8 years, it was time to buy a new laser rangefinder. With all the new laser rangefinders in the market, I started looking at some of the cheaper alternatives such as the Mileseey Laser Rangfinder (review in the link). I found the Mileseey to be not up to par and sold it within a week.
I still wanted to avoid spending 15,000 - 21,000 baht on a Bushnell, so I thought I would try the TecTecTec VPRO500 Laser Rangefinder. You can buy them on Lazada for around 11,000 - 12,000 baht. I bought mine at Bangkok Golf Club when it was on sale for 8500 baht.
The TecTecTec was definitely a better product than the Mileseey. The build quality is similar to a camera. It feels much more sturdy than the Mileseey or the Bushnell V3. It also performed better than the Mileseey. However, the 8-year-old Bushnell V3 still acquired and locked on to targets and flags much faster and easier than both the Mileseey and the TecTecTec. But it was good enough that I didn't immediately sell it within a week. I kept it for about 8 months.
With both the Mileseey and the TecTecTec, I often found myself getting incorrect distances due to hitting something other than my intended target. You have to have steady hands and double-check to get accurate readings.
Is it worth the extra 9,000-10,000 baht over the Mileseey? I think so. But Bushnell is still the king in my book. And that is why I eventually purchased a Bushnell XE Laser Rangefinder.
