Sirikit Dam Club House

The clubhouse is something typical of government or military courses in Thailand. It features a basic kitchen and a very sparse pro shop. The bag drop area is a very basic caddy shack area.

The green fees are around 800 baht for green fees, cart, and caddy. This is fairly reasonable for what you get.

The course is fairly long and tight. Players will get punished for being off the course most of the time. However, sometimes a ball that goes off course will bounce off the side of a cliff and back into the fairway. The greens are slow. We guess that they probably are a solid 7 or 8 on the stimpmeter. The fairways are not that well maintained and a more of what we would call light rough.

The combination of tight fairways, tall trees, and mountainous terrain makes the course fairly challenging. Many sections of fairway are less than 40 yards wide. There is a fair amount of elevation changes and contours as well.

Sirikit Dam Golf Course is probably a god send for local government officials and business men to play golf due to it's remote location. Is it worth the drive or detour to play a around of golf? Probably not. But it is a good value if you want to break up a long drive to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.
