Located within the fabulous Laguna area of Phuket, Laguna Golf Phuket is close to many fantastic hotels, condos, restaurants, bars, and shops. The area is booming with tourists and expats from all over the world. Our team was excited to see what Laguna Golf Phuket had to offer.
Upon arrival, we were greeted at the bag drop area by the staff and assigned caddies. The facilities are very nice and modern. After paying for our green fees, we quickly made our way to the driving range (which is included in the green fee price).
The driving range has both mats and grass areas. There is also a chipping and putting area as well. Both are conveniently located near the first hole tee box. The driving range balls were a mixture of Bridgestone and Srixon balls. Over all, a very nice welcomed warm up prior to our round.

As we played, we noticed that the course was relatively tight and short. It was as if someone had bought an abandoned tin mine and decided to try to fit a golf course in the middle of some hotels and residential properties. Which is exactly what happened. The entire Laguna area was an abandoned tin mine prior to being purchased by a land developer.

Our caddies were around 40-60 years old and their aging joints were definitely reflected in the speed at which they moved. During our trip to Phuket, we visited three courses and the Laguna Golf Phuket caddies scored the lowest.

The fairways and landscape were relatively well maintained. The greens were of good standard. They were measured at 10 on the stimpmeter when we played.
Overall, Laguna Golf Phuket is a well run course with good practice facilities. It is located conveniently in the Laguna area. But it's a bit too cramped for our liking. We feel that Aquella, Blue Canyon, Red Mountain are definitely better options.
