Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai is a very well maintained and operated golf course. Both Alpine Golf & Sports Club and Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai are owned by Thaksin Shinawatra. Having been to Alpine Golf & Sports Club, our expectations were rather high prior to arriving at Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai.
Located roughly 30 minutes from the center of Chiang Mai, the golf course is a nice brisk drive away from the city center.
The clubhouse is very well designed and maintained. It features a restaurant, mens and ladies locker rooms, cafe, and pro shop. The pro shop is very well stocked with clothing, shoes, balls, and accessories. The locker rooms are spacious and clean as well.

On the course, the fairways are well maintained. The greens are roughly a 9 to 10 on the stimpmeter. They are fast but not quite as fast as Bangkok Golf Club. The greens are fairly small and well protected by bunkers and trees. This course requires precision and control. Some holes purposely entice the golfer to choose a longer club such as a driver, when 2 iron shots would surely get you on the green.

The golf course landscaping is very well maintained and manicured. The attention to detail is very good. It's the same quality as Alpine Golf & Sports Club located in Bangkok. Only courses like Black Mountain, Amata Springs, and Siam Country Club are still a notch above in terms of attention to detail.

Overall, Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai is definitely worth a visit. Especially with its unusually low prices at this time. At 1900 baht for green fees, carts, and caddies for two players, it was a steal. We feel that Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai is actually better than Alpine Golf & Sports Club in Bangkok. If you're in the Chiang Mai area, you should definitely book a round. You won't be dissappointed.
